Now some of those are being revisited by committees, allowing them to be rehashed and maybe move forward through the legislative process. Here's what we're watching. You can contact the committees to state your concerns about these bills, all of which will have full committee work sessions on Wednesday, September 10 in the House Judiciary Committee.
❌HB232, Relative to the rights of conscience for medical professionals. This bill would permit health care providers to conscientiously object to participating in providing abortion, sterilization, or artificial contraception services.
❌HB293, Preventing minors from accessing obscenity on certain electronic devices with internet access. Rep. Lisa Mazur co-sponsored this bill. This bills would create civil liability against manufacturers that do not install obscenity filters in devices like tablets and smartphones used by minors.
❌SB268, Permitting classification of individuals based on biological sex under certain limited circumstances. This bill would provide a definition for "biological sex" and says that certain designations by biological sex do not constitute unlawful discrimination.

This week is critically important for Goffstown area residents to say NO to anti-LGBTQIA+ bills.
❌HB273, giving parents access to their kids' library records. This bill went to a Committee of Conference (to address disagreement between the House and Senate) where they amended it to include only currently circulating items and only print and AV materials. Now it goes to the House and Senate this week for action on the amended bill.
❌ HB377, prohibiting hormone treatments and puberty blockers for minors. This bill also went to a Committee of Conference where they decided on an amendment. It would exempt treatment that began prior to 1/1/2026. They also linked this bill to one recognizing environmental health day, a legislative strategy.
❌ HB560, giving parents access to their kids' medical records. Another bill that went to a Committee of Conference, the proposed amendment exempts access to birth control. Further, this bill is now tied to a DWI blood alcohol bill and a timber tax and logging bill, to try to push it through.
❌HB712, the bill the prohibits gender-affirming breast surgeries for minors, went to a Committee of Conference. They tacked on an abortion statistics reporting amendment and disciplinary sanctions for medical providers.
❌ SB96, the parental rights/mandatory outing bill, also went to a Committee of Conference. We're awaiting the report and any recommended amendments.

The Gender Observation Police, “G.O.P.” is a group of community members protesting the absurdity of HB 148, a trans bathroom ban bill.

As you can see from this interaction—and Lisa Mazur’s own reaction when aggressively speaking to a trans man she identified as a “biological male”—this bill makes no sense in practice. If passed and signed into law, that man would be forced to use the women’s restroom, and trans women would be forced into men’s spaces.

If even the lawmaker pushing the bill can’t tell who is trans, how can anyone expect this to be enforced fairly? Are we really going to start requiring people to show IDs to use the bathroom?

This bill is not only discriminatory—it’s unworkable and dangerous.

The state and federal assaults on access to gender-affirming healthcare, on confidential access to information & the right to read, and on LGBTQIA+ rights and gender identity has been fierce this session but the advocacy and allyship has been really strong. Thank you! Please act on the following bills:
📬Send a message to members of the NH Senate Judiciary Committee ASAP, asking them to OPPOSE HB148 (classifying people by gender determined at birth and discriminating against transgender people) and HB191 (creating civil & criminal penalties for anyone taking a minor to a medical procedure without parental permission).
